I feel the most comfortable in casual clothes, & this outfit is a sort of happy mish mash of everything I’ve been enjoying recently. Lots of the colour blue & of course the off shoulder trend. The personal style section of this blog has it’s roots in very hippie / bohemian dressing. Of course it’s been 7 years since then, & my style has changed & evolved quite a bit, but it’s fun to sometimes revisit it. Speaking of revisiting old loves, this  outfit was photographed at Candies, my very favorite hangout when I was in college. At the time it was out favorite purely because of proximity (plus management at Candies seemed nice which is more than we could say for our other favorite, Cafe Andora).

So that day I went back to Candies after a few years, to check out their latest pizzas (the Hawaiian one was delicious!) & I was delighted that the place still had it’s charm. Plus, it had just rained, which made all the greenery look even more lush. I made a mental note to visit more often.

This post turned out to be a bit… nostalgic somehow? In a world where everything’s changing, revisiting old favorites (whether it’s a cafe like this, or just reconnecting with old friends) just seems to bring with it a sense of comfort.

As I grow older, I find myself trying to buy less & instead invest in better quality pieces that I will be able to use more often in more ways. Luxury means very different things to different people. For me luxury is not about splurging on some big-name European design house with loud branding; a very conformist idea of what luxury fashion is.

To me luxury is more about quality products, made by hand that suit my style & I’m also proud to buy local as much as I can (#MakeInIndia & all) I’ve recently come across Delhi based brand Vitasta design that truly fits my definition of luxe! They have a wide selection of good (mostly leather but some handloom too) like bags, clutches, tech & travel accessories in clean, minimal designs. And what can be more luxurious than personalising something with your own initials? It’s the end of April & we’re really & truly in the middle of summer here. Even though I’m a summer baby (I turned 24 this month, woohoo!) I do have mixed feelings about the season. The afternoons can be unbearable, but it’s also the perfect excuse to have a beachy getaway! I spent a week in Goa with my parents at lovely resort & had a wonderfully laidback week with lots of calamari, beer & of course breezers. It was just what I needed!

This outfit is pretty much like my vacation uniform, I’d just probably switch out the tee.

Lately I’ve been really into pink – bright pops of fuschia coupled with subtle blush tones. I already espoused on the virtues of these Zara denim shorts in my previous post, so I’m just going to say that this was one of my best purchases ever this season, I’ve worn it countless time & I see myself having it for a few years at least!

I’m also so in love with this Vitasta rupiya clutch – it’s handmade, buttery soft leather. I had a hard time choosing which color to go for because there were so many, but in the end I went with teal because it was both a beautiful color & wholly unique. I’m trying to scale down my wardrobe a bit & move towards a minimal wardrobe full of high quality, unique & classic pieces and this is a great first step in that direction. Plus, it feels very good to support talented Indian designers. What’s more, the rupiya clutch is two pieces (you can see the outside clutch here – it’s monogrammed!) so that makes it very versatile. I’m certainly getting this in one or two more colours soon

I finished the look with my newest pair of Native Shoes. Not only are they super cute, they’re perfect for messy roads, rains & puddles! No more worrying about where I step. Absolutely perfect for beach vacations.

I left with two bras, but of course the green one (pictured above & below) is my favorite – it’s so luxurious & visually intricate, completely unlike anything I’ve ever owned before! I also picked up a delicate lace bralette, my favorite kind of thing for daily wear.
